With errors indicating first state of first printing: broken type on page 229 and “Father Giles” instead of “Farmer Giles” on bibliography page. With map attached to rear endpaper and in great condition. The encyclopedic book containing stories, lore and mythology behind the iconic epic fantasy series, The Lord of the Rings. A fairly clean copy with some mild wear around the edges of buy jacket including chipping at corners and spine ends. Jacket tanned. Front board somewhat bowed but remains clean and gilt design is bright. Binding is fairly strong and spine is straight. All pages are clean and unmarked. Smells very faintly of smoke.
