This is a really beautiful vintage unframed urban industrial scape, watercolor by listed artist Eugene De Christopher. De Christopher buy was born in 1918 and is known primarily as a sculptor and designer, which makes this sweet vintage watercolor painting by him such a find! The painting is signed on the lower left hand corner and dated 1940. The painting depicts a compelling industrial landscape that could be 1940's New Jersey, complete with a train and railroad. The painting is unframed and measures 25 inches by 21 inches. There is some water damage to the top right hand side (see photos). Interestingly enough, the water damage seems to blend in with the overall design and color scheme of the painting. This is such a beautiful period watercolor from 1940 that evokes such nostalgia!.
